Converting Existing In Nomine NP Cs

Return to In Nomine

My fixes don't really change anything fundamental about characters, except to constrain their characteristics a bit. Technically, adding an NPC with Strength 1 or Perception 12 won't really break anything -- at least, not any more than it already did. The only thing that really does have to be recalculated is hit points, because otherwise fights could be very one-sided!

That said, it's really easy to normalize NPCs completely. All that needs fixing is their characteristics, before redoing their hit points. Just look at how many Forces they have in each Realm, and then apply the following fixes to that Realm:

The detailed way

1 Force: Add a total of +6 to the characteristics so that each is 4+.

2 Forces: Add a total of +4 to the characteristics so that each is 4+.

3 Forces: Add a total of +2 to the characteristics so that each is 4+. Then, if one is at 11+, lower it to 10 and raise the other characteristic commensurately.

4 Forces: If one characteristic is at 11+, lower it to 10 and raise the other characteristic commensurately.

5 Forces: Reduce the characteristics by a total of -2 so that each is 10 or less.

6 Forces: Both characteristics are 10.

The easy-to-remember way

Whenever you have to roll against an attribute or skill, add 4 and subtract the relevant Forces.

Example: A premade NPC has Strength 10 and Corporeal Forces 5. When rolling against their Strength, the actual roll is against 10 + 4 - 5 = 9.
